This was a 4500 sq.ft residence with a core open space that was expansive, and in three levels inclusive of a mezzanine space. The public and semi-public spaces of the houses such as the formal living, dining, kitchen, family living, reading space interspersed with courtyards and balconies were all interconnected through an open plan. The challenge for us was to create a design that would not compromise the connection between these spaces and yet achieve filtered visual interconnectivity. The design language adhered to a classical use of wood in a profusion of white elements and touches of gold.
